So…what’s next you ask? Well we are starting a project that we (my husband and I) have always wanted to do. We are restoring a cast iron tub. Yep! You read that right. A cast iron tub!!
We started working on it last weekend and of course everything that could go wrong did. First, we decided to blast the bottom of the tub, but when we went to get the blaster the battery was dead. That’s when everything went south. We charged the battery and got it cranked, then realized we didn’t have enough diesel to complete the project. So, we went to town got the diesel and decided to drive around to the back where the tub was rather than moving the tub.
Can you guess what happened next? Ha! The ground was soft and we of course got stuck! We tried for about an hour to get it out with no luck. My brother in law eventually came to our rescue. Yet while waiting for him to get there we decide to move this 200lb tub together. That’s when I realized I really should start working out. I don’t think I was much help, but he let me think I was. Once we finally got the tub moved closer to the blaster we began blasting. It took a while and it was definitely a messy job. Upon finishing up my husband’s brother showed up to pull us out. It was definitely an interesting night. However, the time we spent together made for some great memories!
So that’s how we started this project. We’re hoping as we go it gets a little bit easier and we can’t wait to share our progress. We are beyond excited to start this next chapter!
